Teach-nique™ Activity-Based Heart Rate Banner
Use heart rate posters to Incorporate target heart rates and MVPA into everyday activity.
Students are recommended 60 min of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity a day. This target heart rate poster explains target heart rate zones by color coding them and breaking each out by percentage of max heart rate, beats per min range, duration, and activities to achieve those target ranges. Posters also present tips on how to figure out maximum heart rate based on your age. This target heart rate poster gives your students all the tools needed to understand target zones and how to get to those target zones for better overall health!
Get in the Zone
Easily identify target heart rate zones in a glance thanks to color-coded organization. Designations include Very Light (blue), Light (purple), Moderate (green), hard (yellow), Maximum (red). For students to find their max heart rate, they’ll need to subtract their age from 220—for example, if you are 12 years old your beats per min would be 208 BPM to 188 BPM for the maximum target zone and 125 BMP to 104 for the very light zone.
Look to the banner for activities that will help elevate students’ target heart rates, as well as the duration needed to perform them to achieve a desired target zone. Students will quickly reference the chart for everything they need to get started on their own.
