Traverse climbing is a safer type of climbing challenge, without ropes or harnesses required!1. Why incorporate traverse climbing into my curriculum?
In traverse climbing, climbers advance across a wall horizontally instead of vertically, with their feet never more than two or three feet from the floor. Hand/foot holds of different shapes and sizes are positioned throughout the wall to create changeable routes and challenges for various ages and skill levels. The activity is continuous as climbers traverse from one end of the wall to the other, over and over again.
