Two-Way Radio Terms
FRS/GMRS Frequencies: Family Radio Service and General Mobile Radio Service frequencies are available for recreational and personal use. Dual-service (or hybrid) radios can access 22 channels using both FRS (1-14) and GMRS (15-22) frequencies. Business Frequencies: Reserved exclusively for business use, these frequencies provide secure privacy, clear audio quality, and virtually no interference. Business radios have more power than FRS/GMRS radios and can access up to 89 business-exclusive frequencies. FCC Operator's License: Grants 5 years of service on GMRS or business frequencies.
