| Wood Shaft | |
Least expensive, but heavier. For intermediate players. |
| Aluminum Shaft | |
Lightweight for easier ball handling and harder shots. Octagonal shape for increased ball control. For advanced players. |
| Plastic Shaft | |
Safer and lightweight. For beginners. |
| Coated-Foam Polyurethane Head | |
Firm, flexible foam shell with spongy core for safety. For all, but especially beginners. |
| Molded Polyurethane Head | |
Very firm and fairly rigid. Holes decrease wind resistance, allowing faster swings. Varying thickness on striking surface (thicker at edges, scallops) enhance handling and ball control. For intermediate to advanced players. |
| Rubber Head | |
All-rubber and rubber/polyurethane heads "grab" the ball especially well, allowing more shooting/passing control. For intermediate to advanced players. |
