Redfeather® Hike™ Snowshoes (24 ea)

Our most popular snowshoes feature a round-tail design for exceptional flotation. Snoeshoes feature a lightweight aluminum-alloy frame, polyvinyl decking, and easy-to-use stainless steel crampon system, powder-coated to prevent snow/ice build-up.  Easy on/off adjustable nylon-web bindings keep heels free and feet properly aligned. Spring-loaded binding reduces fatigue by snapping back into place. Graphics vary. Suitable for snow, ice, grass, and sand. Not for use on pavement, asphalt, or other hard surfaces. Includes carry bags.

 

Magnus™ ABS Snowshoe Cart (1 ea)

Snowshoe Cart conveniently stores and transports everything in pack! Features 10" dia all-terrain front wheels and 6" dia ball-bearing rear swivel casters with pedal-lock for easy mobility. 36”L x 30”W x 40”H; 22 lb.

 

Snowshoeing: From Novice to Master Book (1 ea)

The book you need to go from novice to master! 196 pages.

 

Trekking Poles (24 ea)

Telescoping aluminum poles that add stability for the novice (beginner) and propulsion for the master (advanced) snowshoer!Poles expand 32”L to 55”L.

Which snowshoes are right for me?

Whether you're learning on the grass of a football field or actually in deep-powder snow, consider the following points when choosing snowshoes:

  • Material: Aluminum-frame snowshoes with nylon webbing are the most popular. They combine strength with light weight and usually have nylon webbing for traction. Plastic (often nylon) snowshoes are gaining popularity, with a simple one-piece design, molded frame and webbing, and fewer connection points for increased durability.
     
  • Fit: Most models are rated by user weight, which determines that snowshoe length. Frame shape also has an impact on fit. Many models have tapered tails for a more ergonomic fit and less splayed stride, which can put strain on leg joints and tendons. Adjustable bindings ensure a secure fit, while rigid bindings are easier for beginners to use.
     
  • Poles: Poles provide added stability for the beginner and propulsion for the advanced snowshoer. Their use distributes the generation of power from the legs alone to include the upper body. Poles also make it easier for beginners to keep their heads up and perform maneuvers, such as kick turns.
