Cast iron shots are regulation size and weight.
These official shots meet all NFHS specifications, meaning athletes can use them in official high school competition.
Made for Competition
These cast iron shots are the most commonly used shots in high school practices, as well as competitions. They meet all NFHS specifications and provide a rough, textured surface for a great grip due to their cast iron design. The nature of the sport requires these shots to be tough, and tough they are!
The shots are available in a wide variety of weights. The 2.7 kilo option works great for younger students and as a practice tool to help older students perfect their form. The 3.6 kilo size is most commonly used for junior high competitions. Finally, the 4 kilo and 12 lb options are used for women’s and men’s competitions, respectively.
