Authored by a subject-matter expert, this comprehensive, easy-to-use program is designed to meet critical health and nutrition standards, while also incorporating MyPlate activities. Lessons are grade-specific and address topics such as food groups, serving sizes, healthy eating, physical activity, and safe food handling. Includes lesson plans, manual, worksheets, classroom and at-home activities, and ongoing support.
Each book clearly explains different activities appropriate for all grade levels, with each grade having 10 or more engaging activities. Lessons include tips on healthy snacks, the importance of breakfast, ensuring correct portions, understanding and reading food labels, and healthy recipe ideas.
Though the lessons are created for different grade levels, each lesson follows the same format so teachers and students can easily follow along. Lessons clearly identify goals and objectives, as well as necessary equipment. There is also an introductory narrative, classroom activity, home activity to help reinforce the lesson, and variations.
