Square dancing is unique in that just watching the instructor won’t provide you with everything you need to know in your dancing.
- Pat Carnathan, a professional square dancer, is featured in the DVD to lend his expertise to students. DVD covers 21 basic dance calls and moves and was shot from above, with dancers that are “color coded” in terms of the clothes they’re wearing. This makes it easy to watch them and learn how they move among each other. DVD is 55 minutes.
- CD contains songs with and without the verbal cues, so you can be the caller yourself if you choose. It also contains a printable guide, which contains a brief history of square dancing, how it is different today, terminology to know, positions, how to “call” a dance, what you should wear while square dancing, and more important information. Also included are step-by-step calls and movements for the 5 included songs, as well as a section on variations, modifications, and ideas for teaching all ages and ability levels.
DVD and CD both feature 2 variations of each song, 1 with and 1 without cues.
