Teach the MyPlate program and food guidelines for kids while promoting exercise in this team-building relay race. Scatter the food pieces and have teams take turns to see how fast they can put the Puzzle to Plate™ puzzle together by matching the pieces to their food group.
Easy to Play
Students are divided into 5 equal teams, with each being designated a food group. Puzzle pieces are then scattered across the gym, and one by one students race to pick up the pieces for their food group. Only 1 piece can be moved at a time. The team member then races to put their piece on the pat, which then begins the next player’s turn. The first team to complete its section of the mat wins.
Instructions also include a number of other fun game variants. For example, players can be divided into 2 teams and can be timed to see which finishes the fastest.
Included Pieces and Mat
The puzzle pieces are made of a sturdy polyvinyl material and grip to the floor while resisting tearing. Each piece is color-coded so it can be easily matched with food groups. There are 11 protein pieces, 12 veggie pieces, 12 grain pieces, 11 fruit pieces, and 8 dairy pieces. Some example pieces include: banana, English muffin, cottage cheese, chicken, and broccoli.
The mat is made of vinyl, so it will hold up and resist tearing over time. It is 4’ x 4’, and shows a plate where the foods should be placed.
VersaBag storage bag is also included to make transportation and storage a breeze.
