Better elasticity from an underlying spring and a cushioned, friendlier jumping face makes this junior springboard an ideal prospect for intermediate gymnasts. Students will get the lift they need, allowing them to practice a bevy of twists and twirls to be used in routines and competitions.
Approved for Competitive Levels
Gymnastics is split into 10 junior levels (1-10), where levels 1-3 are non-competitive, 4 and 5 are compulsory levels (competitive, but students learn a specific routine), and 6-10 are optional levels (a mix of specific and optional routines). This junior spring board is designed for levels 4 and 5, for intermediate gymnasts weighing 150 lb or less. It provides the necessary spring action for basic routines, without the complexities that more advanced gymnasts demand from a springboard.
The simplicity of this board is drawn from a short-length, midsize spring. Spring designate the force and power that can be derived from the board when it’s used by gymnasts—springs with more elasticity provide more bounce for younger students; stiffer springs offer more control to older students who can approach them with more power, force, and momentum.
Shorter than regulation-level full size boards, this one accommodates the shorter strides and lighter weights of younger gymnasts. Full size boards are over 47'' and this one is just 36''.
With the prospect of students constantly jumping on and exerting force through a springboard, durability becomes a primary concern. A strong wooden base and durable zinc-plated steel springs are a sustainably reliable choice for years to come. The face is even made of carpet over ½” polyethylene foam, to promote comfort and cushion when impact with the board is made.
Board is 36”L x 23-3/4”W x 8-1/2”H; 36 lb.
