Get the cold compress you need for injury right when you need it. All you need to do is squeeze the pack to activate it, and it stays cold for 15 to 20 minutes. This is perfect for situations in which you don’t have ice handy or ice cannot be kept frozen.
Cold therapy is best used for sprains, strains, and bruises. If ice or cold packs are used immediately on an injury, it helps to reduce and prevent swelling, reduce bleeding, reduce muscle pain and spasms, and reduce pain overall by numbing the area.
The inner bag contains water, and when that bag is punctured by squeezing it, it is allowed to dissolve ammonium nitrate in the bag. The reaction between the water and the ammonium nitrate absorbs heat quickly, lowering the pack’s temperature.
One time use for these packs means there is no risk of cross contamination, and that it is not necessary to disinfect packs after use. Each pack measures 6" x 9".
