Use these packs for hot or cold compression therapy again and again. The flexible pack conforms to the body for ideal treatment. Keep the gel pack stored in a freezer or refrigerator and take it out when needed for cold therapy. Boil in water and microwave for heat therapy!
The fact that these 6" x 9" packs can be either hot or cold makes them the most versatile packs we have available. Cold therapy is perfect for strains, bruises, and sprains, while hot therapy is excellent for ongoing aches and pains.
To use for cold therapy, freeze the pack for at least 1.5 hours then wrap and apply it, alternating application for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off. To use for heat therapy, boil 3 quarts of water and place the pack in water for no more than 5 minutes. Remove and knead it to distribute heat. Afterward, microwave the pack for an additional 20 seconds, let it sit for 20 seconds then knead it again, wrapping and applying it to the injury for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off.
The gel stays flexible even when frozen. This is important because it is still able to easily conform around the area it is treating, unlike ice cubs in a plastic bag. As a result, users are able to stay more comfortable while during compression therapy and the area is effectively treated.
This is our only reusable bag, which makes it an extremely economical option. It is also a more environmentally friendly choice, as the reusability prevents waste. A case includes 12 bags. Easily store half in the freezer and the other have in a cabinet or bag, ready for heat.
